Big story for today's game is Tim Thomas getting his third straight start of the season. There a bunch of 'tards out there thinking the more Timmy plays the more tradable he becomes and that Rask is just a flash in a pan (because we all know one start with bad defense means just that.. ugh).
Thomas starting again is simple. He's on fire. Look at these stats...
We're big Rask fans at DOY HQ. We have a mancrush on the kid, but how do you not go with Thomas with those stats? A .984 SV% and a .GAA lower than Barry White's voice.
Some quotes from Cladue Julien (compliments of DOY favorite Joe Haggerty)
"You've got to ride the hot hand."
"It hasnt been an issue with them. And as long as it doesnt become an issue with them it isn't going to be an issue with us."
There's also some re-re discussions going on over at the GoalieStore.com forums. Apparently -- to a few dumb folks -- Thomas is readying himself to be traded because he's going with all white pads and mask... forget the fact that he still has a bear on his mask and that he's said whte makes him look bigger. But, remember, never let facts get in the way of a good story.
This was the forum comment that started it all (but thanks to the guy before him for linking to our Thomas new mask/pads post).
Not sure if he was joking or not, but it did start a three page discussion on who's better and if the a two-goalie system is good, is Timmy being traded soon, and is Tuukka a flash in the pan. Read the commenst if you want to give yourself a migrane.
Our official view of Team Timmy vs. Team Tuukka is coming soon. You can probably tell which way we're leaning with this one.
After the jump... projected rosters, Game Day Links and your Game Day Video
Projected lineup: (compliments of Boston.com)

Jordan Caron-Patrice Bergeron-Blake Wheeler
Mark Recchi-Tyler Seguin-Michael Ryder
Brad Marchand-Gregory Campbell-Shawn Thornton
Zdeno Chara-Johnny Boychuk

Game Day Links:
- Rask is not crying like a baby because Thomas is starting over him. Lots of maturity being shown by him. He gets it. He understands its team first.
- We haven't read this yet, but this wins for headline of the week: Bourne Blog: In hockey as in life, you never forget your first score
- According to ESPN.com (and a few others), Savard is skating on his own... vs. skating with the help of a chaperone???
- Caron's a beast. Matt Kalman has a nice piece on the rookie's fearless demeanor.
Game Day Video (five minutes of line brawl awesomeness.. we think we've used this before, but it's just so much fun):
