The Bruins have officially announced that Niklas Svedberg has been signed to an entry level contract. He's a 22 year old goalie from Sweden. For those who are not familar with Svedberg, he played in the Elitserien league since 2009, but was loaned out to Mora of the Allsvenskan league during the 2010-2011 season. Here's a break down of his stats:
|Regular Season||League||Team||Games Played||GAA||SV%||Shutouts|
Svedberg only played in the playoffs once for Brynäs, during the 2011-2012 season. In 13 games he posted a 1.70 GAA and a SV% of .947. Those are some pretty good fucking stats right there.
This could mean the end of Tim Thomas in Boston. No, I don't mean that Svedberg is going to come up and play right away, but it could signal that Thomas will be moved and the organization is adding goaltender depth because Anton Khudobin could see some time next year as Rask's backup.
Or they're not going to re-sign Rask.
Or I'm just making shit up. Who knows.
