Today is the day I've been waiting for since it was announced that Tim Thomas signed with the Florida Panthers. Timmy is suiting up against his former team, the team he virtually led to a Stanley Cup in 2011. Tonight the old guard faces the new guard. It should be a fun time man. I still love me some Tim Thomas despite his douchery after the White House stuff.
I was surprised when I saw that Johnson was starting in net last night. I figured that Boston would have put the better goalie out against the better forwards, but a Tuukka/Timmy matchup practically writes itself. Shit will sell like hotcakes! HOTCAKES JIMMY!
We should all know what Florida is about right now. They're 15th in the Eastern Conference and battling the Islanders for control of the 4th overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft. They're a tire fire rolled in infant feces and covered in Indian food. They currently have a goal differential of -31, they have the worst powerplay in the NHL with a success rate of 8.8%.
Mother fucking 9%, basically. The team at 29? Buffalo at 13%.
That's bad. Really, really bad. Thier penalty kill isn't any better - killing off only 77% of the penalty they've taken this year. There is literally nothing redeeming about what the Panthers do that can be considered good.
If the Bruins lose to Florida man...
Then again, the Bergeron/Marchand/Smith line is rolling. That line had a combined 8 points last night, including this beautiful goal.
I mean if you were ever looking for a couple of gifs for Bruins fans to bust out their vinegar strokes, that's probably it. Jesus Christ. That play was so pretty I wanted to take it out for a nice seafood dinner AND call it again.
