I swear, I won't talk about Marchand. I'm not going to do it, it's been talked about to death and I don't feel like grabbing my baseball bat and beating that dead horse.
Nope. Throw all the honey badgers you want at me, I'm still not going to talk about it. I'm not going to talk about his low-bridge hit on Sami Salo. I'm not going to talk about his 5 game suspension. I'm not going to talk about the creepy guy under the DOY watermark in the honey badger hit (actually, I may later, wtf). You can throw whatever it is you want at me about Marchand, which can include his awesome blog onESPN or whatever gifs you want.
Nope, refuse to do it. I don't care if the guy has moves like Jagger, moves like Jagr or moves on Jager.
Fine! Last night the word came down from the NHL that Brad Marchand will be suspended for a low-bridge hit on Sami Salo. The number of games suspended: Five, which is still 3 games less than the number of Canucks players trying to punch Shawn Thornton in a scrum. I think that's all I really want to comment about when it comes to Marchand. Head through our archives, that past few days we've killed the topic, brought it back to life, banged it's mouth and then killed it again.
Oh, there's a hockey game tonight....

(We know "honey badger" is annoying, especially after last night's bowl game but it's too fitting. Soooo, suck it.)
Brad Marchand isn't happy with his suspension and he couldn't care less what people think about his reputation. Good ol' Honey Badger vented on his ESPN blog yesterday. It's good:
OK, the play with Sami Salo. It technically wasn’t a clip. Clipping is when you hit someone at the knees and I did not hit him at the knees. Anyone that has seen the video will see that I hit him in the upper thigh under the buttocks. They can call it a clipping, but they obviously don’t know the rules of hockey. I felt like I was trying to protect myself and get low and he went over me. It was very unfortunate that he was injured on the play. I know he has a concussion. There has been a lot of concussions going on this year. It’s a very fast game. A lot of guys are big and strong and physical. It’s very tough on the guys. It seems of late, a lot of guys are getting injured. Hopefully concussions can kind of start to drop off and we don’t see as many of them.
Exactly. Not to mention that whole "throwing the body" language. By the way, Matt Kalman found yet another Canucks clipping video. That makes three clips from Vancouver last playoffs. But they never throw cheap shots.
Next Marchand pretty much tells Vaginault to lick his balls.
Their coach [Alain Vigneault] came out and said I play to hurt players. He obviously wanted to take a shot at me and stir the pot for the hearing [Monday]. It just shows the class he has or lack thereof. I really am not going to respond or bite into what he’s trying to feed me there. I hear Twitter was filled with comments about me today. For anyone that wants to call me someone who takes cheap shots, they can say what they want. It doesn’t affect me. I don’t care what people who don’t know me and I don’t know them and they have no meaning to me, I don’t care what they say. I don’t really care what my reputation is. I just want to play. I’m doing this as my job. I love this team. I’m just trying to be a player and I don’t care what my reputation is really. I’m not out there to hurt guys. When I’m out there, I play a hard-nosed game and play hard. If guys are soft and don’t like it, then that’s fine. I’m not out there to please anybody. I’m out there to do my job.
On to some less juicy but more fun items. Don't expect Brado to join Twitter... like ever.
Another random thought is about Twitter. The reason I’m not on there like Tyler is because everyone knows Twitter is being monitored. There’s no point of having Twitter if it’s being monitored and you can’t say what you actually want to say. So it’s pointless to even have it. Yes, I know there are a ton of fake Marchand accounts out there. I’ve even gotten fan mail from people who said that they tried to tweet me. I don’t have Twitter. There are a lot of fake ones out there. I definitely don’t have it.
And he has a nickname for his line.
I thank everyone for the suggestions for a name for my line, but I wanted to throw this out there and get everyone’s reaction: Bru-Tang Clan. It’s almost like a copy of the Wu-Tang Clan. It’s just Bru because we’re like brothers. So what do you think?

Welcome to TWSS, a post that looks at the "enemy" posts from around the league. Today we're going to look at the "dirty" hit on Sami Salo delivered by Brad Marchand. For those who live under a rock, don't use social media networks or are just dullards, here's the hit from Saturday's game:
You can clearly see that after Marchand hits Salo, he tries to steal his soul and then murder his family....or that's what Vancouver blogs out there would lead you to believe. So without further adeiu, lets get into the action folks!
After the jump, Canucks blog "goodness"...

Marchand has a hearing with Sherrif Shanaban around noon today for his hit on Sami Salo. Canucks have said that Salo has a conucussion which is the common injury to clipping, obviously, and we all know that everyone has a concussion before a disciplinary hearing -- right Ryan Miller?
Yesterday, Brado went on the defensive, echoing what Claude Julien said post-game -- he was merely defending himself from a big hit from a much larger opponent.
Per Puck Daddy:
"The puck was going around the boards and I went to pick it up and was kinda looking over my shoulder and saw Salo coming in and I just kind of went down. You look up and you see a guy who's 6-foot-4/6-foot-5 coming in on you, and your instincts are to just protect yourself and it was very unfortunate he was hurt on the play.
… "I've seen the replay a bit. I did go under him but I felt the base contact was about his hip point. That's usually a pretty legal hit from what I've seen in the past. I have no idea about how the League feels about it."I think, in this league nowadays, with the size and strength of guys, everyone has to protect himself and different guys do it in different ways. In a game like last night when there's a lot of emotions and guys are running around a bit, you're definitely watching over your shoulder a little bit more and you want to try and protect yourself as much as you can. When you have a guy coming in on you, you have no idea what his intentions are and what the outcome's going to be. You're just trying to protect yourself in that situation."
Brado took a big hit near the exact same spot so that's no surprise. He's also used to Canucks taking runs at him. Pretty sure everyone here remembers when Sedin charged Marchand after the whistle and then got flipped like a party cup in a frat house.
So, yeah, he's used to have Canucks running him.
After the jump... the Canucks bitch, whine and complain becuase that's what they do, plus we get an angry email (GASP!)...

Yesterday's game was a joke in officiating. Tons of phanton calls and non-calls. Happened to both sides. Who got it worse depends on which side of the fence your sitting on. The Canucks, even after winning the game, were still whining about shit while the Bruins were taking responsibility for their poor play for the loss.
"What I can tell ya is that they scored four power-play goals, so we gave them an opportunity to score on their bread and butter," Claude Julien said. "Instead of criticizing the referees, I would much prefer criticizing us for the penalties. Whether you're worthy or not, take the responsibility."
This is why the Bruins won in June and Vancouver lost. No accountability in Vancouver; they always bitching and looking to blame someone else -- even after wins. The Bruins? They grin and bear it and look for ways to improve their weak spots and lesson errors.
Also, Bruins lost two of their top players. Canucks? None, and they still barely won the game.
Like we said yesterday, the Bruins beat themselves, but the refs didn't help in the matter. They made situations worse in their attempt to police the game. I think most people can agree with that.
First Milan Lucic got tossed for being Milan Lucic. Bruins lost him early in the game and that's a huge difference maker right off the bat. It means more guys have to play more minutes and jump in Looch's spot.
Then Brad Marchand gets thrown out for this hit.

After the jump..... Vancouver is still a cowardly, diving, sorry excuse for a team.....

This preview might suck. We're kinda rushing before we head off to the game.
Some people are hyping this as Game 8 of the Stanley Cup Finals 'cause they're delussional about what happened in June (or in complete denial). We get it. We did it with the Pats in that Super Bowl that never happened against the Giants.
Let's be clear: what happens today doesn't change what happened in June.
It's still a big game though. The Canucks, after a slow start like the Bs, are doing pretty well again this year. A Bruins-Canucks rematch is definitely possible. Pevs knows it.
Peverley: "Obviously a lot of hype...but it's a big two points because we're still trailing the Rangers."
It should be physical. There's still animosity between these two teams.
No Rome. No Luongo.
That's right. Hometown boy Schneider is getting the call over Luongo. This means LOLongo is only going to hear it more. But to be fair he's starting off in Boston this year where he ended in Boston last year -- on the bench.
Way the Bruins are playing and scoring lately we could see LOLongo by the second period. We'll see. Schneider is no push over -- unlike Luongo.
Here are some pics posters to send around the Internet or print out for today's game. Click the pics for bigger versions.
More after the jump, suckas.

No question that Boston Bruins are hated around the NHL. Gotta expect that when you play gritty hockey in an otherwise finese-leaning league and even more so when you're reinging champs.
The NHL Facebook page posted a pic of the Bruins with the caption: "LIKE/DISLIKE: The surging Boston Bruins are strong contenders to be the first back-to-back Stanley Cup winners since the Detroit Red Wings (1996-97, 1997-98). Check out their 9-0 win from last night"
The comments can be broken up into a few categories: "Bruins are goons" "Bruins run up the score" "Go Rangers!" and "Conspiracy theorists."
You can read all the comments on Facebook but here's some of the best.
"they won't get the cup again because the whole teams gonna get suspended for being assholes"
"Woow! Season barely half over and these talks already. Boston beat a bad Calgary team who had in their back up goalie. If Boston can beat a high calibre team like Vancouver with the same score or anyone else high in the standings then those talks can begin"
"if Roberto Loungo is a little girl, what does that make Brad Marchand?"
"they are playing too well and will burn out before playoffs and be a first round knockout"
"Bruins suck Vancouver will own them tomorrow"
"Only good player in Bruins is Tuukka Rask"
"If Grampa Thomas gets injured, the Ruins will be all done."
