The Bear: Never Disrespect the Garden

Written by Justin on .

Earlier we talked about some dumb drunk girl who kicked a hole in the Boston Garden's bathroom pillar... and then had the brilliance to post it online.

Well the Bear got wind of the shenanigans and he's pissed.

Bear 1, Drunk Girl 0

If we were that girl, we'd pack our bags now and get the hell out of dodge. You don't want the Bear on your ass.

Chris Neil: Low Class Douche

Written by Jon on .

We're sure most of you are familiar with Chris Neil. He is the Ottawa Senators resident "tough guy" although that term should be used very loosely when it comes to Neil.

His most recent act of cowardice was attacking Dennis Seidenberg.

He's one of those players that takes cheap shots and then skates away, or waits until the refs are between him and the other player before he starts smack talking or throwing punches.

Basically... he's one of the NHL's biggest wussies. We've seen tougher players in local Mite leagues.

But... maybe it is all for show. Maybe off the ice he is the perfect gentleman, a man his community looks up to. Maybe something happened to him in his youth that made him that way on the ice. Who knows.

So we decided to have Boston's top reporter, Patrice Purrgeron, spend a day with Chris Neil to see what makes him tick. The results were.... horrifying to say the least.

Bs looking for drunken girl powerful enough to kick hole in bathroom pillar

Written by Justin on .

Drunk girl at the Bruins game kicked a hole in the bathroom
With tired, Friday morning eyes we found this gem on VERSUS.com (stress, ours):

BOSTON (AP) Officials from the new Boston Garden are trying to identify a woman who can be seen on an internet video kicking a hole in a bathroom pillar.

Boston Bruins spokesman Matt Chmura said building officials found the damage in their postgame sweep after Saturday night's game against the St. Louis Blues. They are trying to identify and locate the woman, whose face is clearly shown in the video.

In the video, a woman in a Milan Lucic Bruins T-shirt kicks a hole in a support pillar in the bathroom.

Then she falls down.

First off, we're 75% sure whoever did this must be a Days of Y'Orr reader. It's the only explanation. Bunch of hooligans, our readership.

Like these guys:

Or they're from Northeastern.

Secondly, we don't think AP needs to call the TD Bank Garden the new Boston Garden. It's been around for quite a while now; there's nothing new about it.

Thirdly, of course it's a someone in a Lucic t-shirt kicking a hole in the bathroom. She was just honoring his legacy.

lucic_broken_glass-300x183

Lastly, a bathroom pillar? It's not like the Garden is built out of Styrofoam and plywood. That must've been quite the Kung Fu kick with a little help from copious amounts of alcohol. Well played, belligerent drunken female. Well played.

So which of you fine ladies did it? Fess up. They got your face on video -- it's just a matter of time. You might as well fess up and tell us your drunken story (if you even remember it). Wonder if it's the same people who've been stealing VERUS' Bruins ads from T-stops.

We haven't been able to find said "internet video" but we did find this.

Filming anything in a bathroom is grade-A creepy

Points to anyone who can find said "internet video."

EDIT: Thanks to Joe Murray who found a link to the video. Video below or check it here.

DOUBLE EDIT: The Bear has caught wind of this girl's shenanigans and he's pissed. He shows his disdain in a new commercial.

Montreal Full of Pansies. Bruins Still Lose.

Written by Jon on .

This one hurt. Every time the Bruins lose to the Habs it hurts. Even though it happens a lot. But still. Bruins didn't really show up to this game. The Canadiens pitiful powerplay scored two goals on Boston's top ranked PK. Montreal players dove so much it made the Capitals look good by comparison.

Maybe the Bruins were just mentally and physically drained after that Pittsburgh game.

No excuses though. A loss is a loss. Gross.

After the jump... Montreal is full of pansies, refs are blind and play so ugly your ex looks great by comparison...

Game Day: Diving Habs vs. Bruins

Written by Justin on .

MON

Bruins are coming off a big win against the Penguins last night where Shawn Thornton stole the show.

Habs are coming off a shutout against the Canucks few days back.

Last time these two teams met it was pre-season. Bruins rocked the Habs and made Montreal fans boo Carey Price. That was just pre-season.

Price is soft

Fans will be out in full force tonight, looking for any opportunity to start "CA-REY!" and "Carey is a girl's name" chants. We've been priming our pipes for tonight's game. Section 306 will be rocking.

A win would put the Bs on top of the Northeast Divison.

DOY friend, DWatson783 was on fire with his Bruins-Habs tweets. He's pumped.

Shawn Thornton has more goals than...

Written by Justin on .

Shawn Thornton is a sniper -- top shelf style
Shawn "Wayne" Thornton -- aka the Third Greatest NHL Player of All Time -- scored his third goal last night, tripling the amount of goals he scored last season. His career high in goals scored in the NHL is six, happening in the 2008-2009 Bruins campaign.

Over the summer we had this prediction:

He's getting 60 goals this season.

Boom.

Bank it. It's happening. We're sticking with that prediction. He's taking home the "Rocket" Richard Trophy next summer, leaving Crosby and Ovechkin crying in their cartons of milk.

And last night, DOY friend Alex Cole came up with an interesting tweet -- NHL stars who Thornton has more goals than.

It was brilliant, so we're running with his idea.

After the jump... guys Thornton the Sniper is outscoring...

Game Recap: Epic Comeback! Bruins Beat Pens 7-4

Written by Robb on .

Apologies for the brevity and formatting of this post, we're experiencing some technical difficulties.  We promise we're not getting lazy!

bspensscore
Well, as of the second period, that was unexpected...

Oh and not only did Shawn Thornton got the the game winning goal, but he was also the number one star!

LIKE_THEM_APPLES

But really though, this was the best possible outcome for the Bruins.  Sure they let up 4 goals, but they also showed that they can be productive offensively without Krejci.  And to all they people hoping to see Cooke get his face destroyed tonight: isn't it better to see a win than to see the "Cookie Monster" ruined in a fight???

Game Day Preview: Bruins vs "Cookes"

Written by Jon on .

bspit

Before the season, the Days of Y'Orr staff was talking about games we weren't looking forward to. Of course the first game against the Flyers came up. If you don't know why you are probably on the wrong blog.

But the first game against the Penguins also came up. We are not looking forward to this at all. Why?

sickofit

Hey, call us bad fans but we're sick of the Cooke-Savard thing. At least the revenge aspect of it anyway. Yes, the hit was dirty. Yes, it sucks that Savard still isn't on the ice and may never be the same player.

But those of you expecting Cooke to end up in a pool of his own blood on the ice are likely in for massive disappointment. The only thing anyone is going to talk about all day is the hit. Every channel that covers sports is going to show repeated clips of Savard going down. Like we need to keep seeing that.

Thornton fought Cooke in the "revenge" game anyway before the Bruins decided playing hockey was dumb and got dominated by the Penguins in their last meeting.

And then of course the same people, some the very same who bitch about fighting in hockey, will talk about all the different ways the Bruins should torture Cooke. Or murder him. Not sure if people are aware, but the NHL frowns upon on ice stabbings. Thats one of the reasons Happy Gilmore's career never took off.

After the jump... some other tasty nuggets in Bruins-Penguins history...

Deja Vu: Big hit knocks Krejci out of Bruins' line-up

Written by Justin on .

David Krejci is out for at least a week

We are here today to mourn the loss of David Krejci... Krejci was given a hard, but clean, check... The Hockey Gods are cruel and saw it fit to take Krejci from us too soon. Krejci will be joining recently departed Marco Sturm in that press box in the sky. Now, a moment of silence for David Krejci.-- Days of Y'Orr staff

We wrote that back in May after Mike Richards broke Krejci's wrist, ending his season and, consequently, the Bruins season. We're not saying the Bruins season is done -- far from it -- but it's just another big, clean hit on the poor Czech that has knocked him out of the line-up. It's deja vu for Boston again. Instead of Richards, it's TJ Oshie (who earlier knocked Chara off his feet) that injured Krejc. Fluke injuries.

And we can't even be pissed at Oshie either -- it's a clean hit. And DOY HQ highly values hard, clean hits.

If we were Dan Shaughnessy, we'd talk about some stupid Center's Curse that would become a national phenomina, but we're not assholes, so we won't. But the Bruins have gone from a team with a plethora of centers at its disposal to looking for a temporary plug up the middle.

Posts are Jerks. Bruins Lose.

Written by Jon on .

The sound of rubber hitting metal is the worst sound in the world tonight. Ask Nathan Horton. Or Bergeron. Or Ryder.

But if you ask Halak, posts are super cool guys.

halaklovesposts

Horton beat Halak. Twice. But not quite enough. Bergeron faked Halak out of his pads in the shootout. Post. Ryder beat Halak in the shootout. Post.

But posts and the loss weren't the worst things that happened. Not even close.

After the jump.... Rask has awful luck, posts are terrible and we hope Krejci is okay.....
